The Australian Industry Report provides economic analysis and commentary on industry performance and topical industry trends and issues. It serves as a factual source of information on Australian industries with the aim to inform a broad audience.
The Industry Map is a companion product of the Australian Industry Report. This tool can help you unlock industry changes in your region. It contains the department’s first issue of experimental Gross Regional Product data as well as business counts, population estimates, labour force and industry employment data.
Resources and Energy Quarterly
The prospects for Australia’s resources and energy sector remain broadly positive, although downside risks remain. Resources and Energy Quarterly provides an overview of macroeconomic developments, global production and consumption of commodities, and the outlook for Australia’s resources and energy sector.
Australian Innovation System Report
The 2016 Australian Innovation System Report presents new indicators that measure and analyse the impact of innovation, focusing on networks and framework conditions which form the essence of the innovation system. This year’s report provides both a historical record of the measures and comparisons across the OECD countries.
Australian Petroleum Statistics
This monthly publication collects national and state statistical information on sales of petroleum products, exports and imports of petroleum products and crude oil, production of crude oil and condensate, refinery input and output, and stocks of petroleum products.
Australian Energy Statistics
The 2016 Australian Energy Statistics and Australian Energy Update are now available, containing the latest official statistics and analysis on Australian energy consumption, production and trade in 2014–15.
Global production sharing and Australian manufacturing
This collaborative research project with the Australian National University examines the patterns and determinants of global production sharing with an emphasis on how Australian manufacturing fits into global production networks. The results show that Australian manufacturing has a distinct competitive edge in specialised, skill-intensive tasks in several manufacturing sub-sectors.
