Healthy international connections are vital to the responsible development of enabling technologies in Australia.
Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and development (OECD) has a number of working groups which relate to enabling technologies and in which Australia participates. Participation in OECD Working groups is a way that Australia can influence and learn from international enabling technologies dialogue.
The department has contributed to trade missions to various trade fairs, conferences and regions of trade significance, including:
- NanoTech 2011, Japan - International nanotechnology trade show
- Hannover Messe 2011, Germany –One of the world’s largest trade shows
- COMS2012, Norway – Conference on commercialising micro and nanotech – important commercial arena for micro and nanotechnology
To assist in the promotion of Australia’s enabling technologies capability, the department has established links with Austrade. Austrade has a network of offices in over 50 countries to assist Australian companies to grow their international business and attract productive foreign direct investment.
