Bilateral minerals and energy cooperation with Japan
The Australia-Japan High-Level Group on Energy and Minerals Consultations (HLG) is the principal forum for energy and minerals cooperation between Japan and Australia.
The HLG was established to promote mutual understanding and cooperation in the fields of energy and minerals.
HLG meetings are held alternately in Japan and Australia.
The 35th Meeting of the Australia-Japan High Level Group (HLG) on Energy and Minerals Consultations was held in Brisbane on 23 and 24 June 2014. The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to obtain a better understanding of policy developments in our respective economies and explore opportunities for expanding trade and investment.
The next meeting of the Australia-Japan High Level Group is expected to be held in Japan during the second half of 2016.
