  • Tax information: The Australian Taxation Office has information regarding tax obligations for independent contractors.

Support Services

Advice and assistance is available to help you find out about independent contracts and general small business matters.

  • Business enterprise centres (BEC) - government-funded metropolitan and regional centres that tailor advice to suit the specific needs of your business.
  • Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) - a national service that is available to non-English speakers to contact the Independent Contractors Hotline or the Small Business Support Line.
  • National Relay Service (NRS) -  TTY Service – offers a telephone solution for people with a hearing and/or speech impairments to contact the Independent Contractors Hotline.
