We are reviewing the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme to ensure it remains fit for purpose.

We review the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme each year to ensure it remains fit for purpose.

The scheme is a single national framework for reporting company information about:

  • greenhouse gas emissions
  • energy production
  • energy consumption

Our department is currently seeking feedback on draft amendments to the:

  • National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Regulations 2008 (NGER Regulations)
  • National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (Measurement) Determination 2008 (the Measurement Determination)

We are interested in hearing your views on the practical application of our proposed changes. This will help us finalise the draft amendments, which will be legislative instruments for the Legislation Act 2003.

Read about the proposed changes and have your say on our consultation hub.

Submissions close on 21 May 2021.
