Australia became a member at a side event of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris on 2 May 2024.
The AI Process Friends Group broadens the Hiroshima AI Process beyond G7 members to 49 countries and regions. The group will help ensure diverse Indo-Pacific voices can add to the topic of artificial intelligence.
The Hiroshima AI Process framework is a voluntary set of principles. The principles provide guidance for how all AI actors can benefit from AI by developing, deploying and using it in a safe and responsible manner.
It consists of:
- guiding principles for all AI actors
- guiding principles for developers of AI systems
- a code of conduct for developers of AI systems.
The framework is consistent with Australia’s policy approach to AI and other global principles we already support.
