Mr Peter Rossdeutscher AM appointed as Chair of Industry Innovation and Science Australia

Accomplished executive, with over 2 decades of expertise in Australia’s innovation ecosystem, appointed Chair of Industry Innovation and Science Australia.

Mr Peter Rossdeutscher AM takes over from Mr Andrew Stevens who recently finished his second and final term.

Minister for Industry and Science, the Hon Ed Husic MP announced the new Industry Innovation and Science (IISA) Chair, Mr Peter Rossdeutscher AM, on 17 February 2025.

Mr Rossdeutscher brings extensive board experience and expertise on Australia's innovation ecosystem, with over 2 decades of work across multiple sectors and technologies. He will be able to draw from his accomplished track record in demand-led innovation and commercialisation and his lived experience in bridging the gap between industry and academia.

Mr Rossdeutscher is also a strong advocate for economic and social inclusion. He is currently co-chair of First Nations X, which empowers Indigenous innovation. He also led Quantum Girls at the University of Western Australia. This national project inspires students, especially girls, to consider careers in STEM through early exposure to quantum science and quantum computing.

His term will be 3 years.
