Australian geography of innovative entrepreneurship

Date published:
1 November 2016

The Australian Geography of Innovation entrepreneurship research paper explores the patterns of innovative entrepreneurship in Australia. It shows the distribution and concentration of business creation, research and development (R&D), patenting and trade mark activity across various regions of Australia.

In an Australian context, the paper attempts to answer:

  • Does high innovation activity overlap with high levels of firm creation? If so, in which regions does this occur?
  • Do research organisations or specific industry sectors significantly alter the distribution and levels of innovative entrepreneurship in different regions?
