Offshore exploration equipment at sunset

The Australian Government will launch the offshore petroleum exploration areas available for bidding at a free online event.

Registration is now open to attend the webinar that will launch the 2022 Offshore Petroleum Acreage Release.

The Australian Government releases areas in Australian waters for petroleum exploration each year that companies can submit work-bids on.

The free online event will stream on 24 August 2022 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm AEST. We invite explorers and investors from Australia and overseas to attend.

We will host the webinar in partnership with Geoscience Australia. It will include:

  • the Hon Madeleine King MP, Minister for Resources announcing the areas available for bidding
  • presentations from Geoscience Australia and the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA).

Our department will publish all release area information on our website after the webinar.

Register to attend the webinar through our online form.

Registrations will close at 11.30 am AEST Tuesday 24 August 2022.
