Round 13 of the Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) grants has awarded $44 million in funding to industry-led collaborative research projects.
The 19 successful projects involve 57 Australian companies. This includes 41 small and medium businesses and one Indigenous-owned company. Approximately 11% of the companies are in regional areas.
Projects include:
- phase 2 clinical study for a next-generation, needle-free COVID-19 vaccine
- development of a machine learning driven prediction for prevention of fall in aged care
- manufacturing a new generation of Australian-made anti-parasite treatments
- electric conversion to fast track zero emissions commercial aviation.
CRC-P grants are awarded through a competitive, merit-based selection process and are assessed by an independent committee of industry experts. The grants offer matched funding of between $100,000 and $3 million and are for a period of up to 3 years.
