$8 million in grants awarded to cyber security education projects

Eight industry education projects will share in over $8 million to improve the skills and availability of cyber security professionals in Australia.

The first round of grant recipients for the $70 million Cyber Security Skills Partnership Innovation Fund have been announced.

Eight education projects have received a share in over $8 million to skill Australia’s cyber security workforce. 

The projects will: 

  • engage the next generation of workers in cyber security careers 

  • develop industry traineeships and work experience programs 

  • build business skills and capabilities. 

La Trobe University received $2.35 million to increase high school student awareness of cyber security skills and training. 

TasTafe received funding to work with industry in establishing a Cyber Innovation Training Hub. It will offer virtual and face-to-face training. 

This funding is the first of the $70 million Cyber Security Skills Partnership Innovation Fund. It is part of the Australian Government’s Cyber Security Strategy to prepare our economy for the cyber threats of the future.
