The Industry Capability Network (ICN) is helping to open up local, national and international project opportunities for Canberra subcontractors and suppliers.

The new setup of the Australian Capital Territory ICN in 2023 will look to re-instate the original ICN footprint, with all Australian states and territories now represented. This follows Tasmania re-joining the network in 2022.

The ICN is Australia’s largest network of suppliers and projects across Australia and New Zealand. The network promotes opportunities for Australian industry in major projects and the service capabilities of Australian suppliers.

Our department is a founding member of ICN Limited, the national ICN coordination body. ICN Limited, and its national IT platform ICN Gateway, support the Australian Government’s commitment to Australian industry participation. It does this by promoting opportunities for Australian industry in major projects and the service capabilities of Australian suppliers.

ICN National Office Chair, Derek Lark, said “This is an important milestone for ICN and for Australian industry as a whole. Having a dedicated ACT presence will enable our national network of Industry Specialists to promote the capabilities of local businesses and connect them with supply chain opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.”

Louise Wakefield has been recruited to establish the ICN ACT office and work closely with the Territory government, industry partners and other stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes for the Canberra economy. Louise has broad experience dealing with projects and businesses, including a background in local government and property development.

“I am looking forward to working with the network to support local businesses to showcase and grow their capabilities by connecting them with some of the exciting project opportunities in our region, and beyond,” said Louise.
