More funding available under round 2 of the Modern Manufacturing Initiative

You now have the opportunity to apply for funding under round 2 of the Modern Manufacturing Initiative for projects in the food and beverage, defence and recycling and clean energy sectors
6 icons for 6 national priority areas.

You now have the opportunity to apply for funding for the following sectors under the Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI):

  • food and beverage
  • defence
  • recycling and clean energy.

If you have a project in one of these sectors, you can apply for funding support under the:

  • Manufacturing translation steam: which helps Australian manufacturers translate high quality research and ideas into commercial outcomes.
  • Manufacturing integration stream: helps Australian manufacturers to access and propel their quality products and high value services into domestic and global supply chains.

Successful national manufacturing priority projects are eligible to receive funding of up to 50% of eligible project costs.

Sector specific road maps

An industry-led roadmap has been developed for each national manufacturing priority sector. These should be used to guide your application under the MMI.

This includes for:

  • food and beverage
  • defence
  • recycling and clean energy.

The roadmaps set out industry and government plans to strengthen Australia’s manufacturing capability.

Guidelines are now available for all six of the national manufacturing priority sectors for the Translation stream and Integration stream under the Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI).

You can use these guidelines to guide your application.
