Napandee in Kimba, South Australia has been identified to host the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility. The decision follows a consultation and technical assessment process spanning more than four years.

The government committed to delivering the facility on a site volunteered by the owner, alongside a community that shows broad community support for hosting it. They considered two other South Australian sites, Wallerberdina Station­­, near Hawker in the Flinders Ranges, and Lyndhurst, near Kimba.
