New Community Benefit Program for NRWMF communities

A further $4 million in funding will go to the two communities being considered for the site of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility.

Minister Matt Canavan announced a new $4 million Community Benefit Program.

The Australian Government has announced a new $4 million Community Benefit Program for the communities considered for the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF). Each of the two communities around Kimba and Wallerberdina Station will receive up to $2 million in grants..

The new program builds upon the $5.76 million invested across 57 projects and initiatives in these communities since consultation on the proposed facility began in 2016.
