The draft framework sets out the department’s proposed policy approach. It forms part of our commitment to continuous regulatory improvement for the safety of workers involved in offshore oil and gas activities in Commonwealth waters.

We developed the draft framework following consultation with the offshore workforce, industry, government agencies and unions. We also considered submissions received in response to the department’s Offshore Oil and Gas Safety Review discussion paper.

Your input will be used to refine and improve the framework This will help us provide an effective, leading-practice framework for securing the health, safety and welfare of offshore oil and gas workers.
