A review is underway to improve diversity in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) sector. The Pathway to Diversity in STEM review aims to improve representation of women and other historically underrepresented groups.

It will identify barriers to participation and retention, review how current programs are performing and recommend ways to improve participation.

Greater diversity in the STEM sector supports the Australian Government’s target of 1.2 million tech-related jobs by 2030. It also widens the pool of available talent and makes the industry more innovative, creative and competitive.

The review will include consultation with industry and the public.
