Challenge-based innovation is about creating opportunities for business, research and government to work together to solve real-world problems.

To find out more about this innovative approach, including Australia’s Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII), come to the Challenge-based Innovation Forum in Canberra on 27 to 28 February 2019.

Long-standing examples of challenge-based innovation programs from around the world include the US Government’s Small Business Innovation Research program and the United Kingdom’s Small Business Research Initiative.

This two-day forum is an opportunity to:

  • hear insights from experts working in these and other successful challenge-based programs
  • network with policy makers, private sector providers and innovative companies
  • learn through hands-on workshops on challenge based innovation

Speakers include Alan Finkel (Australia’s Chief Scientist), Sarah Person (Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Scientist, DFAT) and John Williams (Small Business Innovation Research, US).
