Two new collaborative National Blockchain Roadmap Working Groups have been established to support the National Blockchain Roadmap Steering Committee. They will progress analysis on use cases of blockchain technology in Australia, with a focus on supply chains and credentialing. They link to Signposts two and three of the National Blockchain Roadmap.

Their remit includes:

  • exploring the current state of the identified use case and the economic opportunity it presents
  • identifying technical, regulatory or other barriers to the adoption of blockchain

The Steering Committee selected members following an Expression of Interest consultation process. A panel of government representatives will observe the groups to ensure close consultation with relevant agencies and regulators. The groups will develop and present an initial discovery report to the Steering Committee in early 2021.

Two more Working Groups on cybersecurity and RegTech will form in September this year.
