Consultation to help develop road maps for the National Manufacturing Priorities is open

As part of the government’s $1.5 billion Modern Manufacturing Strategy, we’re seeking views on the opportunitites for manufacturing in 6 priority areas:

  • resources technology and critical minerals processing
  • food and beverage
  • medical products
  • recycling and clean energy
  • defence
  • space

The government announced these National Manufacturing Priorities as part of the JobMaker plan in the 2020-21 Budget. These areas are a focus due to their comparative advantage and strategic imperative.

To implement the Strategy, we’re developing road maps to set the direction for each priority area over the next 10 years. We’re doing this in collaboration with Australia’s manufacturing industry.

We want to know your vision for manufacturing in the priority areas.

Your responses will inform the road maps.

We’ll complete the development of these road maps in the first half of 2021.

Visit our consultation hub to have your say.

Consultation closes 9 November 2020.
