The independent review of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) has begun.
ASBFEO provides assistance to small business and family enterprises and offers a way to provide their views on policy and programs to government.
The Hon Bruce Billson was newly appointed as the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman. He will build on the work that the inaugural Ombudsman, Ms Kate Carnell AO, has achieved since the 2016 launch.
We must complete a review every four years to make sure ASBFEO is working effectively..
This review will examine:
- the kinds of assistance requested during the review period
- whether the assistance provided was convenient and effective for the operators of small businesses and family enterprises
- how ASBFEO has responded to the recommendations of the 2017 review
- the interaction and effectiveness of ASBFEO’s functions, including any new roles acquired since the previous review
It will also look at any possible legislative and administrative improvements that could assist ASBFEO undertake its functions more effectively.
