The MMI’s Collaboration stream will help Australian manufacturing businesses collaborate, innovate and build economies of scale.

Updated: Businesses can now lodge applications for the Modern Manufacturing Initiative’s (MMI’s) Collaboration stream.

The Collaboration stream is the largest component of the $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Initiative.

Funding opportunity

$800 million in co-funded grants will be available for large projects that will help Australian manufacturing businesses collaborate, innovate and build economies of scale. Projects should support businesses to collaborate with other businesses and with researchers.

Eligible projects can receive up to one third of project costs, between $20 million and $200 million.

Collaboration is essential to increasing productivity, exports and new jobs in Australian manufacturing.

The Australian Government is investing $800 million in the Manufacturing Collaboration Stream.

This is the centrepiece of the $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Strategy.

Co-funding grants will encourage businesses to work together, and with researchers. Grants will spur private investment and increase innovation.

This will help create the ideal environment to build scale, compete and transform the sector.

This investment will be targeted to the National Manufacturing Priorities.

A successful manufacturing sector will create high-paid, lasting jobs and a thriving modern economy.

Supporting national manufacturing priorities

Eligible projects must deliver benefits in 1 or more of the 6 National Manufacturing Priority areas.
