Climate change and energy content has moved

Machinery of Government (MoG) changes occurred to our department on 1 July 2022.

On 1 July 2022, the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) became the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR). This follows Administrative Arrangements Orders issued on 1 June 2022.

Department functions

The climate change and energy functions that previously sat with our department have transferred to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources retains the industry, science and resources functions. It also takes on several functions that previously sat with the department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

The Minister for Climate Change and Energy and Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy will be responsible for these portfolios in the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
