The NMI consulted on the trade measurement policy for electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) in 2021 and 2022.

We sought feedback on 4 options for a regulatory framework supporting the accuracy of measurements made using EVCS.

We received 23 submissions from a range of stakeholders resulting in a:

  • regulatory policy for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). Australia is adopting the term EVSE in line with the International Organization of Legal Metrology’s guide OIML G 22:2022 Electric vehicle supply equipment.
  • plan to put the policy in to action.
