2024 APS Employee Censusr results banner

Our department received 2,987 responses to the APS employee census.

The results for the 2024 Australian Public Service (APS) Employee Census are now available.

The census collects employee attitudes and opinions on important issues in the workplace. It helps us understand workforce views and identify areas to improve.

Our department’s highlights report shows what employees think about:

  • employee engagement
  • workforce composition
  • senior leadership
  • immediate supervisors
  • workplace culture
  • inclusion and wellbeing
  • ways of working
  • general impressions of the APS.

In response to the department’s 2024 Census results, we have published our 2024 Census Action Plan.

Our agency plan builds on our 2023 plan and covers:

  • Our commitments to continuous improvement
  • Priority areas of focus and actions to follow
  • What staff can expect to see from leadership

We will continue to monitor and track our progress for the rest of the 2024 Census cycle and beyond.
