Our staff have the right to be physically and psychologically safe.
We deserve to be treated with respect when doing our work and interacting with customers and clients. You must behave in a respectful way when interacting with our staff.
We’re an inclusive employer and workplace. We expect you to treat all our staff respectfully. This is regardless of age, gender and sexual diversity, disability, religious faith, or cultural background.
Showing respectful behaviour
When you interact with our staff, we’ll behave as described in our Customer service charter. You can expect our staff to be respectful and we expect the same from you.
You must always show respectful behaviour:
- if a trade measurement inspector visits you
- when participating in our workshops or exhibitions
- while visiting Questacon or the Australian Space Discovery Centre
- when interacting with our staff, including over the phone or in writing.
Respectful behaviour includes:
- communicating in a calm way
- listening to our staff, so they can help you
- not yelling, threatening, or abusing our staff
- treating our staff and other customers with courtesy and respect
- not filming, recording, or taking photos of our staff or others without their consent.
How we respond to bad behaviour
We don’t accept disorderly, abusive, threatening, or violent behaviour towards our staff or other customers. We also won’t tolerate abusive, provocative, or offensive language.
We take the rights, safety, and wellbeing of our staff seriously. To ensure our rights are protected and staff are safe we’ll contact police when necessary.
Our right to refuse entry or service
To protect our staff and others, we’ll deny you entry or remove you from our premises if you show bad behaviour. We may also end the phone call or finish our visit with you.
