The AIP Authority ensures Australian industry has full, fair and reasonable opportunities to compete for work in major projects.

What we do

The AIP Authority is the statutory officer responsible for administering the Australian Jobs Act 2013, as part of Australian Industry Participation (AIP) policy.

The authority sits in the Department of Industry, Science and Resources’ AIP team.

It reports annually to Parliament through our Annual report.

Overseeing AIP compliance

The AIP Authority:

  • publishes AIP plan summaries
  • evaluates and approves AIP plans
  • monitors AIP plan implementation through compliance reporting
  • may issue public notices for non-compliance.
