Australia hosts meeting of the Quantum Development Group

Australia hosted the third meeting of the Quantum Development Group in Canberra and Brisbane on 24–25 March 2025. 

Joining Australia were representatives from Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Participants discussed the transformative opportunities that quantum technologies offer the world, the recent advancements in their development and their implications for national security. 

Participants acknowledged the importance of fostering a resilient, secure and trusted quantum ecosystem that builds on collective strengths to realise the benefits of quantum technologies. 

Participants discussed the benefits of deepening collaboration, including with industry and academia, recognising coordination is critical for prosperity, security, and technological advancement.

Collaboration across borders, between governments, industry and academia, sends a clear and unified message about our commitment to the advancement of quantum technologies consistent with our shared interests and values.
