Choosing appropriate designs and methods for impact evaluation

This report provides a framework for choosing the most appropriate methods for impact evaluation. The report focuses on industry, innovation and science policies and programs.

Evaluating the impact of science and industry policies and programs comes with a unique set of problems. A one-size-fits-all approach is not appropriate to evaluate the range of activities and actions taken by the department.

This work looks at a range of approaches available, and suggests how to match methods to different types of evaluation questions.
