Thousands of jobs have been automated over the past few decades due to the increasing capability of technology.

There has been considerable debate on which workers are most at risk of being displaced by automation. This research paper considers whether automation will advance Australia.

Technological improvements over the past 20 years have affected:

  • what goods and services are produced
  • how they are manufactured and distributed
  • the interface through which consumers make their purchases

Using new and existing data, this research paper considers whether automation will advance Australia.
