Collaborate with the National AI Centre

NAIC welcomes submissions from organisations who wish to collaborate with NAIC to deliver project or initiatives that support key priorities.

Help us develop Australia's AI ecosystem

NAIC’s mission is to increase Australia’s AI capability. We want to help create responsible and inclusive opportunities for people and businesses.

To support the development of a national AI ecosystem NAIC:

  • provides national leadership of responsible use of AI to drive adoption and innovation in businesses.
  • convenes Australia’s national AI strategy that aligns to best practices
  • supports SMEs to adopt, develop and adapt AI solutions through connections and expertise
  • accelerates a local AI industry that improves on Australia’s national priorities and international strengths.

Our key priorities

The NAIC seeks to bring together an Australian AI ecosystem. With the aim to deliver collaborative projects that support businesses adopting or creating AI. The key priorities of the NAIC are:

  • adoption of Safe and Responsible AI by Industry
  • development of Australia’s AI Industry and Sovereign AI Capability
  • support SME success with AI.

We welcome submissions from organisations to collaborate on projects or initiatives that support these priorities.

Please note NAIC will not consider submissions for collaborations that:

  • do not align with NAIC’s key priorities
  • develop, demonstrate, test or commercialise commercial products or services
  • undertake academic focused research with no direct benefit to businesses adopting or creating AI.

Outline your collaboration

You need to include the following:

  • Your objectives for collaborating with NAIC. This is essentially why you want to collaborate with NAIC.
  • How your collaboration will support NAIC to achieve its key priorities
  • Your collaboration ideas, including specific projects you wish to propose or support
  • What you can provide to enable projects to be delivered. You should include any resources, expertise or assets.
  • What support you would require from NAIC and other organisations to enable the proposed collaborative activities. This may include resources, expertise or funding.

The review panel includes NAIC and other external AI ecosystem representatives. the review panel will meet quarterly. The panel will invite submissions that are rated highly you have further discussions.

Any collaboration that involves confidential information is subject to appropriate formal arrangement.
