Held in 2021, Australia’s third Youth in STEM study surveyed more than 3000 young people about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The survey measured young Australians’ understanding and perceptions about STEM and looked at differences to the 2019–20 survey.
Key metrics include:
- subject selection, awareness, interest, confidence and perceived importance of STEM skills and careers
- gendered differences in awareness and perceptions of STEM.
YouthInsight (the research arm of Student Edge) carried out the survey for our department.
