David Latina
Anti-Dumping Commissioner

The Australian Government has appointed Mr David Latina as Commissioner of the Anti-Dumping Commission for 5 years, from 13 January 2025.

The anti-dumping system plays a critical role in helping to defend Australian manufacturers from unfair trade practices. David has the skills and experience to lead the Anti-Dumping Commission’s important investigative work. He will advise the Minister for Industry and Science on whether or not to impose anti-dumping duties, following thorough evidence-based investigations.

David joins the Anti-Dumping Commission from the Victorian Government as a band 3 executive. He brings extensive senior-level government experience and industry engagement to his new role. David has spent almost his entire career in the public service working closely with industry to create policy and services to meet commercial goals.

His previous experience includes:

  • secondment to Breakthrough Victoria, a venture capital style independent company designed to channel $2 billion in public funds into promising and innovative local businesses
  • creation of a new, long-term vision for Victoria through the Made in Victoria 2030: Manufacturing Statement
  • setting up a taskforce early in the pandemic to secure local COVID-19 vaccine production and build an mRNA research and industry eco-system, leading to Australia securing Moderna’s manufacturing and R&D facility in Melbourne
  • working with businesses to grow industry capability and generate jobs across a range of manufacturing sectors.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Degree with Honours in Economics) and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from the University of Melbourne.
