Sam is the inaugural counsellor for our department based at the Australian Embassy in Seoul.
He supports engagement between Australia and the Republic of Korea to strengthen the bilateral relationship.
Sam has extensive experience in government roles, including legal, deregulation, international science engagement and budget policy.
In international science, Sam managed the North Asia Section, overseeing bilateral science and innovation engagement with Australia’s key partners such as China, India, and the Republic of Korea.
With a track record of hosting high-level dialogues, negotiating international agreements, and administering multi-million-dollar grant programs, Sam has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and advancing Australia's interests on the global stage.
Sam is fluent in Korean.
