Andrew is a leader of commercial innovation as an intrapreneur for large corporates, an entrepreneur in founding and co-founding startups, and as a multi-disciplinary adviser. 

For over 20 years, Andrew has combined the science of innovation with entrepreneurism and commercialisation. In 2012–13 he took to market the robotic technology behind the start-up SmartReo for the Australian and New Zealand construction industries. In 2015, he co-founded Verton and laid the foundation for commercialising its patented crane-load orientation technology. 

Andrew has helped more than 190 companies through the Accelerating Commercialisation program. He also worked with UniQuest as the Commercialisation and Business Development Manager as part of the Australian Government’s Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer Program. During that time, he brought one company to incorporation and prepared for 3 other NewCo’s using IP created by the University of Queensland. 

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering (Innovation Implementation) from the University of Queensland. He is also a qualified drone pilot up to 7 kg.
