Emeritus Professor Ian Chubb has had a distinguished career across the university and government sectors.
Current position:
Professor Chubb is Chair of the Inter-Governmental Policy Reform Group. The Commonwealth government established the group to implement policy reform in health and medical research in collaboration with all jurisdictions.
Expertise:
- Professor Chubb was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) in 2017.
- He is a member of the AAS Council, leading the development of Australian Science, Australia’s Future: Science 2035. It is a 10-year plan to position science in support of our national ambitions.
- He is also a fellow of the:
- Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE)
- Australian College of Educators
- Royal Society of NSW.
Previous roles:
- Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University (1996-2000)
- Vice-Chancellor of Australian National University (2001-2011)
- Chief Scientist of Australia (2011-2016)
- Member of various boards and committees including the Board of CSIRO and the CRC Advisory Committee (2015-2020).
