Duncan Macinnis
Industry Growth Program Adviser | New South Wales

Dr Duncan Macinnis has spent the last 15 years working between business and science. He has a broad knowledge of the life sciences, with experience developing new products from concept through to sales. He has extensive experience working with researchers, clinicians and early-stage companies, and supporting them in their commercialisation journey. 

Duncan was a Director for Stakeholder Engagement with MTPConnect. In this role, he supported hundreds of small and medium businesses and start-ups on their path to translation in medical sciences. He added to the delivery of multiple funded programs, including as Industry Partner Organisation Lead to the Industry Growth Program. Duncan has also worked in tech transfer at the University of Sydney and held the role of Commercial Manager at an ASX-listed biotech company.

Duncan holds his Doctor of Philosophy through Western Sydney University. Funded by the Fosters Group, his thesis research looked at the genetics of beer flavour. He earned a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales and also holds post-graduate qualifications in management.
