This proficiency test is part of our 2024 proficiency testing (PT) program for gas mixtures. The study is covered by our PT provider accreditation (ISO 17043).
Registrations close 1 March 2024.
Study options
The study options available are:
- PT study
- PT study with the PT sample as a chemical reference material (CRM)
- calibration standard and supply of a PT sample.
Test Materials
We’ll prepare and distribute each PT sample in a 5 L gas cylinder with valve outlet AS2473 Type 20.
We’ll supply these sample cylinders for the:
- PT study at around 25 bar pressure
- PT study with PT sample as a CRM at greater than 80 bar pressure
- calibration standard and supply of a PT sample
- at greater than 80 bar pressure for the CRM
- at around 25 bar pressure for the PT.
Gas samples will contain these components (nominal mole fractions only):
- Carbon Dioxide at ≤ 40 %
- Methane at ≤ 15 %
- Ethane at ≤ 5 %
- Carbon Monoxide at ≤ 200 ppm
- Nitrogen as balance.
Reference values for the comparison are traceable to the SI (International System of Units) registered in the KCDB (Key Comparison Database).
Sample distribution and reporting
We’ll:
- distribute samples by 1 April 2024
- issue the PT report in August 2024.
Once you’ve completed the study you must:
- submit your measurement results by 1 June 2024
- include a brief description of the test method.
For both the PT study and the calibration standard and supply of a PT sample, you must then return the sample cylinders by 15 June.
For PT studies with the PT sample as a CRM:
- you don’t have to return the sample cylinder as it becomes your property
- we’ll give you a CRM certificate after we report the PT results.
Cost
The cost to participate is:
- PT study $1,450
- PT study with PT sample as a CRM $3,600
- calibration standard and supply of a PT sample $4,200.
The applicable price includes:
- goods and services tax (GST)
- delivery to Australian sites.
You must pay extra for:
- return freight
- all international freight and duty charges.
